The IMPACT World Tag Team Titles will be on the line at Emergence.
Last month at Slammiversary, The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) won a Four-Way Match to take the belts from Violent By Design's Joe Doering and Rhino. During tonight's episode of IMPACT, Eric Young's group approached The Elite members and informed them that they would be invoking their rematch clause at Emergence on Friday, August 20, 2021.
Later in the show, Scott D'Amore informed VBD that their request had been granted, but that the match would be a triple threat, with Willie Mack and Rich Swann added to the bout. They have a recent victory over the group and were deemed to be just as worthy of a title opportunity.
Violent By Design first captured the titles by defeating FinJuice. The NJPW duo had just defeated Ace Austin and Madman Fulton when Rhino decided to cash in his Call Your Shot Trophy and take advantage of a tired team.
