Jay White Is Switchblade, Challenges Hiroshi Tanahashi For IWGP Intercontinental Title At WrestleKingdom 12

After months of speculation, we finally know who Switchblade is.

Upon defeating Kota Ibushi at Power Struggle this morning, Hiroshi Tanahashi was winding down his usual post-match celebration of playing the air guitar, much to the delight of the fans. He was about to say that he loved them when suddenly the screen went dark. The videos that have been popping up since the G1 Finals started to air again, and this time we saw a bit more from this mysterious person obsessed with knives.

After one more "Switchblade Is Coming" vignette aired, it was revealed that Jay White was none other than the mysterious figure, returning from his ROH excursion. Wearing a knife pendant on his chest, he made his way to the ring and challenged Tanahashi face to face. Tanahashi balked, causing White to attack him. Tanahashi put in an effort to ward him off, but White debuted his new finisher, which looks a lot like the Sister Abigail.

He then took his pendant and laid it on top of Tanahashi's chest, serving as a kind of calling card. Talking to the camera, he made it clear he wanted the Intercontinental title at WrestleKingdom 12.

His last appearance for the promotion was back at Dominion last year, when he teamed with David Finlay and Juice Robinson in a losing effort against Satoshi Kojima, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Manabu Nakanishi. He's spent most of the last year wrestling for Ring of Honor.
