Jerry Lawler To Face Bully Ray In The ECW Arena At 12/18 Battleground Championship Wrestling Show

Jerry Lawler returns to a building that he was not too fond of once upon a time.

Jerry Lawler once said that the ECW Arena should be made out of toilet paper "because there's nothing in it but shit." Nearly 25 years after uttering those words, Jerry Lawler will enter the building once again to face a true ECW original, Bully Ray.

The match, which will take place for Battleground Championship Wrestling, will happen on December 18, more than one year after Lawler celebrated his 50th anniversary in wrestling. Spending most of his time in Memphis, Tennessee, one of Jerry Lawler's biggest moments after his WWE debut in 1993 would come in 1997 when he defended the honor of WWE (and his USWA) against ECW's Tommy Dreamer.

At the time, Bubba Ray Dudley was just finding his footing and growing his legacy alongside D-Von Dudley, but now a Hall of Famer in his own right, Bully Ray will return to the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and see if he can make Jerry Lawler eat his words just one more time.

Speaking of Jerry Lawler, while he no longer wrestles under the WWE umbrella, he did just reportedly sign a new agreement with WWE ahead of Monday Night Raw on December 6 in Memphis, Tennessee. Learn more here.
