Ken Anderson reflects on working with Eddie Guerrero on the night of his final match in WWE prior to his death.

In November of 2005, the wrestling world would tragically lose one of its brightest lights as Eddie Guerrero passed away, competing in his final match with WWE just days prior to his death, facing off with Ken Anderson.

While speaking to Pro Wrestling Culture in a new interview, Ken Anderson recalled his conversation with Eddie the night of Guerrero’s final match.

“I just remember the conversation that we had after the match. You know, he had some critiques about my work and the way, you know, he was like, just calm down. Cause if you watch, we did some chain wrestling at the beginning and he puts me in a hammer lock and I immediately go to the ropes and he was like, ‘I was hoping we would do a little more chain wrestling there, and, you don’t have to rush everything, slow down, take your time. Just listen to me.’ The other thing was I hit him with that chair and I remember he had told me before he was like, ‘Hey bro, make sure you like hit me good. Like hit me. I can take it.’ I said, ‘okay, yes, sir.’ I was always told like, if you’re going to swing a chair, make sure you swing it, swing it good. You don’t want to, you don’t want it to look bad. Then the guy is, then he’s got a split second decision to make whether am I going to sell this chair, you know, and then it just looks terrible.  So, so He said, swing it. I did, and then we got to the back and he was like, maybe a little less. Maybe too much, and then that night, I was actually riding with him at the time. We went out that night and we went to a steakhouse in Indianapolis, and just talking with him and hearing stories.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Anderson shared the worst injury he had in the world of pro wrestling. You can read more about that here.
