Here is your post-SmackDown fight-size update for 8/7/2020:
- In the opener, Matt Riddle, who was wrestling Sheamus, was attacked by Chad Gable. Sheamus looks on from inside the ring before rolling Chad into the ring and hitting him with a Brogue Kick for costing him the match. Sheamus then gets on the mic and screams at Chad before hitting him with a second Brogue Kick.
Later, Sheamus walking up on Baron Corbin backstage and blaming him for Chad interfering in his match before Corbin threatens him and leaves. This leads to Sheamus costing Corbin his match with Jeff Hardy, leading to Sheamus vs. Corbin.
- In SmackDown women's division news, Sasha and Bayley were informed by Stephanie via video conference that Sasha will defend her title at Summerslam and Bayley will defend her title against the winner of a three branded battle royal that will happen next week.
- Tonight, RETRIBUTION made their presence felt.
- Cesaro toppled Lince Dorado in singles action.
- Tonight, Big E cut a promo detailing the importance of his singles push. E would say that the support of the WWE Universe, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods lifts him up.
- Daddy Deville was a guest on The Dirt Sheet with The Miz and John Morrison. The bulk of this segment was the tag team making fun of Mandy Rose for having her haircut and Sonya Deville gloating about what she accomplished. Heavy Machinery would come out to break up the fun and this would lead to a tag match later. Which saw Mandy get some revenge.
