Lance Archer: It's A Matter Of Time Before I'm Put In 'The' Position

Lance Archer is a 45-year-old veteran who has been part of WWE and IMPACT Wrestling before finding a home at AEW and NJPW.

Archer has been put at the top of the card in AEW, challenging for the AEW World Championship on multile occasions. In NJPW, he's been a standout performer and is a former two-time IWGP United States Champion.

Archer had a well-received bout against Kazuchika Okada on the August 16 in the final night of block action in the G1 Climax 32 tournament.

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Archer was asked what it would take for him to be the top guy in a company.

"This business, as you know, is other people making decisions. What's it going to take? It's going to take that person, those people, those moments, to make those choices and the decisions to put me in those positions. Not that I've been put in bad positions, I've been put in great positions, but just never been put in 'the' position. I think it's a matter of time, hopefully I don't run out of time in my career, that someone says, 'Screw it. Lance's time is now, we're going to make sure it's now, and nothing is going to stop that,'" he said.

Archer was not victorious against Okada, but earned praise from fans and peers for his performance. The G1 Climax 32 Finals will take place on August 18. Archer is expected to be part of the card in some capacity.
