CMLL hosted the 9/27/2024 edition of "Noche de Campeones", featuring seven title matches in the card. One of the featured matches of the show had Los Infernales (Averno, Euforia & Mephisto) challenging the trio of Star Jr., Neón & CMLL World Historic Welterweight Champion Máscara Dorada for the CMLL World Trios Championships.

After a dynamic match to kick off the proceedings of the event, Los Infernales managed to pick up the win at the hands of Mephisto locking a Hammerlock Guillotine Choke on Máscara Dorada after connecting an Avalanche Fairytale Ending to win the trios titles.

Historically speaking, this is Los Infernales's fourth title reign with these champions but first for this version of the historic faction. The most recent featured Hechicero, Euforia & Mephisto holding the belts for over 245 days; on the other hand, the version featuring Pirata Morgan, El Satanico & MS-1 held the belts twice in the middle of the 1990s. Star Jr., Neón & Máscara Dorada held the belts for 73 days, making them the 8th shortest reigning champions in the title belts's history.
