Since Speedball Mike Bailey joined All Elite Wrestling, he has been no fan of Don Callis or the Don Callis Family, with this feeling only being heightened after his former tag team partner, Kevin Knight, joined the faction. Now, a current member has suggested that he should maybe try to join also.
While speaking to Jeremy Lambert and SP3 on Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds, Mark Davis spoke about his recent title defense against Speedball after being asked his thoughts on the fan reaction to the bout.
“I mean, it doesn’t feel bad. I think sometimes maybe people can get too caught up in the swell of, I don’t know, those type of opinions and things like that. For me, it’s just always about trying to go out there and just give 100% to professional wrestling. I think Speedball Bailey, even though he’s had some issues with the Don Callis family here, he’s a little bit of a jilted ex-lover right now towards Kevin Knight. I honestly feel a little bit bad for him. It’s a little sad. He’s great wrestler. He hits really hard. He’s a fantastic opponent. A person who’s always going to bring out the best in other people. It’s just not his time. Maybe if he does a little bit of groveling, knocks on Don’s door, says sorry, asks for forgiveness, asks to step inside the family. Maybe Don would be gracious enough to give him a little bit of, a little bit of a breadcrumb, but he’s a stubborn young man, a stubborn young fella. I don’t think they’re going to step towards doing that anytime soon.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Davis spoke about Aussie Open’s match with FTR at NJPW Royal Quest II. You can read more about that here.
