Mark Davis: I’m Loving The Opportunity To Feel Healthy And To Do Professional Wrestling Again

Mark Davis is feeling great.
Davis was able to take a huge career leap on the May 9 episode of AEW Collision, as he defeated Jack Perry to become the new AEW National Champion. This is his first time holding a singles title since 2019, when he held the Fight Club: Pro title for 197 days.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed for a new interview, Davis talked about his journey to AEW and how it all made him into the wrestler that he is today.
“My journey wasn’t very linear. It was hop, skip, jump from Australia to the United Kingdom to Japan to America. There were a lot of points where it was all or nothing. I needed to excel to keep going. I had to wrestle to get my next match, so I couldn’t take time off. I’ll never complain about it. It’s all become part of who I am. It brought me here. And I love that feeling, going balls to the wall, then coming back to the locker room feeling like crap.”
Continuing on, ‘Dunkzilla’ said that his passion will always prevail over the setbacks that he faces.
“When you boil it down, the biggest part of anything I do is passion. There have been a lot of setbacks, but wrestling has always provided a lot for me. I’m really passionate about what I want to present in professional wrestling. Passion is crucial to my career, and I present that in the ring.”
Rounding out the topic, Mark Davis put it in plain terms — he’s just happy to be healthy again.
“I’m loving the opportunity to feel healthy and to do professional wrestling again–and to do it at such a level in such a great company. My philosophy is to always put my boss in a position where he can trust me. Big things are happening. I want to keep building.”
Jack Perry’s reign with the AEW National Championship lasted just 55 days before Mark Davis ended it.
