MLB Playoff Game Delay Won't Change WWE SmackDown On Fox Schedule

Good news for WWE fans.

Despite MLB schedule maneuvering, WWE SmackDown will air in its normal 8 p.m. ET slot on Fox this Friday, Oct. 18.

Wednesday's scheduled Game 4 of the American League Championship Series between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees has been postponed to Thursday, pushing Game 5 to Friday, which was originally scheduled to be an off-day for the ALCS.

The ALCS has primarily aired on Fox Sports 1, though Game 1 aired on Fox. With Friday originally scheduled to be off, Fox Sports 1 planned to air the college football game between Ohio State and Northwestern. In past years, the MLB playoff game could have been moved to Fox, keeping college football on FS1. However, with WWE SmackDown being a live show and occupying the Friday time slot, Fox opted to put MLB on FS1, moving Ohio State vs. Northwestern to another network.

WWE SmackDown could move to another network on Friday, Oct. 25 as Game 3 of the World Series is scheduled to air on Fox. However, no start time has been confirmed for the game.

Fightful will continue to provide fans with updates on the WWE schedule as more information is known.
