Mojo Rawley Advances In United States Title Tournament; Jinder Mahal Vs. Xavier Woods Set For Next Week

The United States championship tournament continued on Smackdown tonight.

Mojo Rawley defeated Zack Ryder in short fashion tonight on Smackdown. He advances to the semifinals of the tournament, where he will face Bobby Roode. After the match, Rawley stood face to face with Roode, who was doing commentary. Rawley backed away, not wanting to get into an altercation.

Here is what went down, via our live coverage:

They lock up to start the match before Mojo backs Zack into the corner for a clean break, then Zack dropkicks Mojo for a quick one count. Mojo runs at Zack, but he gets his knees up in the corner, then Mojo yanks Zack off of the middle turnbuckle before beating him down.Mojo keeps Zack grounded until he fights back and sends Mojo back into the corner and goes for a the Browski Boot in the corner, but Mojo counters. Mojo comes back and sends Zack shoulder first into the ring post before and laying Zack out with a running forearm for the pin and the win.

Next week will be Jinder Mahal vs. Xavier Woods in the first semifinal match. Mahal cut a short promo saying that his sights were now set on the United States title and 2018 is going to be a great year for him. The winner of that match will advance to the Royal Rumble, where a new United States champion will be crowd.
