Nia Jax reveals backstage reaction to Roman Reigns' return on Raw.
Appearing on the It's Mike Jones show, Nia Jax was asked about Roman Reigns returning to WWE this past Monday. Reigns had been away from the company since October after revealing his leukemia had returned. WWE announced Roman would be updating fans on his condition prior to his appearance on Monday, but no one knew quite what to expect.
"He had us all on edge because we were all waiting to see what he was going to say," said Nia. "Just seeing him around was amazing. It helped everybody. But to hear that he's in remission, there was not a dry eye backstage. We were all in happy tears, jumping up and down. Now we feel whole again because, like you said, we were missing our Superman. Now he's back."
Fightful reported on Monday that Dean Ambrose was very emotional backstage and made the decision not to join Roman on stage as he walked back up the ramp. Seth Rollins did embrace Reigns in front of the live audience.
Later in the interview, Nia stated she is looking forward to seeing what's next for WWE's Superman.
"I'm excited to see what is going to happen with Roman, what he's going to do now that he's back. He's excited about bringing awareness to leukemia and trying to help the way he got help," stated Nia.
Nia is scheduled to team with Tamina to challenge Sasha Banks & Bayley at WWE Fastlane for the Women's Tag Team Titles.
