Nikki Cross wasn't disappointed by her heroes.
Nikki Cross has been wrestling for over a decade, competing in promotions such as TNA/IMPACT, SHINE, SHIMMER, and more. In 2012, Cross wrestled Mickie James under the Pro Wrestling Elite banner, which was a dream come true for Cross as she looked at James as a role model.
Speaking to Lilian Garcia on Chasing Glory, Cross discussed meeting James and others in wrestling she looked up to like Trish Stratus and Lita.
"I really looked up to Mickie James. That Mickie and Trish [Stratus] storyline was amazing," recalled Nikki. "I actually got to wrestle Mickie on the Independent scene. From day one, she's always been very helpful. If I've ever had a question, she's given me an honest answer. She's helped me a lot and we kept in touch. To both end up in WWE is amazing. Having looked up to her and then meeting her, she was so nice and we had so much fun working together. The same with Lita. Trish as well. You grow up watching them, and you meet them, and they're awesome. You just feel lucky."
James and Cross have shared the ring multiple times since Cross signed with WWE in 2016, but never in a one-on-one bout. James is currently sidelined with torn ACL. Meanwhile, Cross is one half of the Women's Tag Team Champions with Alexa Bliss.
