NXT will takeover Tampa during WrestleMania 36 weekend.
Triple H announced NXT TakeOver: Tampa for April 4, 2020, the night before WWE WrestleMania 36. The event will be held at Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. Tickets for the event go on-sale Friday, Dec. 13. NXT TakeOver: Tampa will mark the fifth straight year NXT has held a TakeOver event the same weekend as WWE WrestleMania.
Last year's event was moved to Friday night as NJPW-ROH ran a Supershow at Madison Square Garden on Saturday.
Along with confirming NXT TakeOver: Tampa, Triple H announced upcoming NXT road trip dates for 2020.
The initial tweet listed the date as April 2, but that is a Thursday and the same night as the WWE Hall of Fame 2020 ceremony.
The next NXT TakeOver event is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 16 in Portland. The event will be a standalone show, meaning it won't run the same weekend as a WWE pay-per-view.
