PJ Black To Challenge NWA World Champion At ROH TV Tapings On January 12

PJ Black is set to receive a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Title at the Jan. 12 ROH TV tapings in Atlanta.

Nick Aldis is the current NWA World Champion, but there is no guarantee he makes it to the ROH tapings with the title. Aldis is set to defend the strap against James Storm at tomorrow's NWA pop-up event in Tennessee. The winner of the bout will go on to face Black next week at Center Stage.

The announcement further cements the partnership between ROH and NWA, which started to take shape last year with Cody appearing at ROH events as NWA World Champion. At Final Battle in December, Aldis, who had since regained the NWA World Title from Cody, made his way to the ring following the conclusion of the ROH World Title bout between Jay Lethal and Cody. He gave Lethal a round of applause for successfully defending his title before heading backstage.

Earlier this week, NWA and ROH announced that they would be partnering up to bring fans the Crockett Cup in April

Fightful will have full results from tomorrow's NWA pop-up event following the conclusion of the show.
