PJ Black On Signing With ROH Over WWE: WWE Makes Promises They Can't Keep

PJ Black explains his decision to sign with ROH over WWE.

In February it was announced that PJ Black had signed an exclusive deal with ROH. Black reportedly turned down a WWE offer, which would have seen him join the NXT brand. Speaking to CBS LA, Black revealed why he chose to put pen to paper with ROH instead of rejoining WWE.

"They usually do three to five years, which is also very tough because a lot can happen in a year or two, and nothing?s guaranteed. In NXT, I don?t want to say too much about how they work, but they promise a lot of things, which 90% of the time they can?t keep to," said Black. "They?d be like ?oh, you?ll be on the main roster in six months or seven months, or whatever it is, and even if you?re not, you?ll still get your pay increase or whatever it is.? I know for a fact because I speak to guys on a daily basis. All my friends are still in the WWE and in NXT, and I speak to these guys all the time, and I know for a fact none of the stuff that they were promised happened. Obviously, there are exceptions here and there, small exceptions, but those guys are just happy to be around and still be making money and being on TV. While most of them are not happy with where they are, that?s what they wanted to do. That?s still their dream job."

During the interview, Black confirmed that his deal with ROH is of the one-year variety. Black is in Las Vegas for ROH's 17th Anniversary Event but is not booked for tonight's card. He is scheduled to face Bandido at their television tapings on Saturday.
