Report: Adam Pearce And Dewey Foley Are The Main Creative Forces Behind WWE 205 Live

WWE?s most exciting hour of television is reportedly creatively driven by two people who have been around wrestling for the majority of their lives in vastly different capacities.

A new report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter states that former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce and Dewey Foley, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, are in charge of the creative for the third hour of WWE programming on Friday nights.

After a successful career on the independent wrestling scene, Pearce signed with WWE full-time as a WWE Performance Center coach and producer for NXT in 2015. He has since been promoted to the role of a producer on the main roster's Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. Adam has occasionally been used as an authority figure on the main roster shows as well.

Dewey Foley is the eldest child of Mick Foley. His journey to getting a job as a writer was chronicled on the ?Holy Foley!? reality show which aired on WWE Network for one season.

205 Live got its start in 2016, shortly after the WWE Cruiserweight Classic Tournament which saw TJ Perkins crowned as the inaugural WWE Cruiserweight Champion. Initially, that brand was supposed to be an extension of Monday Night Raw, which would be the exclusive home of the Cruiserweight division. This was seen as a way to create an interesting attraction for Raw as the 2016 brand split was just getting started. The purple brand would undergo numerous aesthetic changes, title vacancies, integration into NXT, and a move from Tuesday to Friday to coincide with SmackDown brand moving back to Friday nights as the show always aired live after SmackDown.

WWE 205 Live is still going strong in the COVID era of WWE, having one to two matches per week with names such as Isaiah Scott, Santos Escobar, Ever-Rise, Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch, and Tony Neese.

Fightful will have live coverage of WWE 205 Live every Friday night being at 10 p.m. Eastern.
