Report: AEW Working On Bringing Back Riho, Could Return As Early As February

AEW is trying to bring Riho back in the mix.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, AEW is working on bringing Riho back. Riho finished up with Stardom in December. Stardom reportedly wanted talent under an exclusive contract, which was not possible for Riho due to her deal with AEW.

Meltzer notes that Riho could be back "as early as February." No exact date was given.

Her last AEW appearance came on March 18 when she competed in a four-way bout against Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander, and Penelope Ford. She was the first-ever AEW Women's Champion, losing the title to Nyla Rose in February 2020. She has been active for Stardom during the pandemic.

AEW recently announced a Women's Championship Eliminator tournament. Further details as far as the start date or competitors were not announced. The tournament is "coming soon" according to AEW.

It is unknown when Riho will return to AEW television.
