"The Animal" was said to have been in talks with WWE to compete at this year's WrestleMania in Kurt Angle's current position.
The summer of 2014 was the last time that former four-time World Heavyweight Champion Dave Bautista was seen on WWE television. Since then "The Animal" has been heavily featured in numerous movie roles as has he has taken his stardom he earned in WWE and transitioned that onto the big screen. In past interviews he has not been shy in stating that he would like to return to the WWE; more specifically to have a match with his former 'Evolution' faction-mate Triple H.
It was recently reported by Dave Meltzer in his latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE and Bautista had been in talks regarding a return and him teaming up with Ronda Rousey at this year's WrestleMania to take on Triple H & Stephanie McMahon. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed the report by way of the Observer and added that the talks between the two parties were going well and Bautista felt as if he was set to be competing in New Orleans this year.
