Report: Rezar Was Cleared To Return Prior To AOP Release

On September 4, WWE announced the company had released Akam and Rezar of AOP.

The duo hadn't been on television since March when Rezar suffered a bicep tear. He underwent surgery for the injury in late March.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Rezar was cleared to return from his injury, but instead, the duo was released by the company. No word has been given as to why Rezar and Akam were released.

Before the injury to Rezar, AOP had been paired with Seth Rollins as part of the Monday Night Messiah's group. Upon leaving, they were replaced in the group by Austin Theory. Murphy remained the constant alongside Rollins as the stable underwent changes.

Meltzer went on to say that AOP wasn't going to be brought back as part of Rollins' group.
