WWE NXT Results for 1/23/19 Bobby Fish vs Velveteen Dream, Kairi Sane & Io Shirai in Action

Hey Fight Fans, we hope you enjoy the next hour of NXT which is the go home show before NXT TakeOver: Phoenix this Saturday night!

-Velveteen Dream comes out to the ring to start the show and talks about his wanting a shot at the North American Championship before he's interrupted by Adam Cole and Bobby Fish of Undisputed Era. Adam reiterates that Undisputed Era will be draped in gold in 2019 and that he can dream on. Bobby says that Dream should be ashamed before the crowd chants for him to shut up and Bobby says that Dream needs to learn to live in reality and that 2019 will continue to be their era and that it's undisputed. Undisputed Era then get in the ring before Dream escapes up the ramp before leaving as we go to a video package for the NXT Women's Championship match at NXT Takeover: Phoenix this Saturday night in which Shayna Baszler will defend her championship against Bianca Belair who won a fatal four way to get the title shot.

Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan vs The European Union 

Oney and Fabian start the match with Fabian hitting a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and tags in Marcel before Danny gets the tag and takes out both members of the EU before he's sent out of the ring and Fabian turns Oney inside out and he and Marcel double up on Oney. Fabian hits a moonsault for a near fall before Oney drops Fabian with a running European uppercut and takes out Marcel and his own partner at ringside before Fabian hits a springboard cross body to the outside. Back in the ring Oney ducks a springboard move by Fabian and rolls him up for the pin and the win out of nowhere.

Winner: Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch defeat Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel when Oney pins Fabian with a roll up. 

-We get a video package for the NXT Championship match at NXT Takeover:: Phoenix between the champion Tommaso Ciampa and the challenger Aleister Black. 

Io Shirai & Kairi Sane vs Tanea Brooks & Amber Nova

Io kicks off the match with Amber by exchanging standing switches before Io back flips and dropkicks Amber before tagging Kairi in. Kairi and Io double team Amber before Kairi hits a running, sliding forearm in the corner and Tanea distracts Kairi before she gets the tag. Kairi spears Tanea and tags in Io who drops Tanea several times before hitting a Tiger spin kick and a springboard double dropkick. Kairi then comes in before she hits an assisted elbow drop and Io hits an assisted moonsault for the pin and the win.

Winner: Kairi Sane and Io Shirai defeat Amber Nova and Tanea Brooks when Kairi pins Tanea after Kairi hits an assisted flying elbow drop and Io an assisted moonsault.

Bobby Fish vs Velveteen Dream

Bobby tries to corner the faster Dream before Dream dropkicks him and goes for the cover, but Adam pulls him out of the ring before hitting a springboard dropkick that sends Fish off of the apron. Dream hits a diving double ax handle and rolls Fish back into the ring before they exchange strikes and Adam distracts Dream. Fish drags Dream out of the ring and hits a dragon screw leg whip into the railing before they get back in the ring and Fish starts focusing on his now injured leg. Dream kicks Fish away before Fish hits a chop block for a two count and locks in a single leg Boston crab. Dream rolls through and kicks Fish away before he drops Fish with a bicycle knee and hits a missile dropkick for a two count.

Dream slaps Fish in the corner and hits a huge spine buster and goes for the Purple Rain Maker, but Fish rolls into a knee bar. Fish then argues with the referee before Dream rolls him up for a near fall and Dream hits a rolling DVD into a second Purple Rain Maker for the pin and the win.

Winner: Velveteen Dream defeats Bobby Fish via pinfall with the Purple Rain Maker.

-The Street Profits versus The Forgotten Sons and Kairi Sane and Io Shirai versus Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke are announced for next week's show.

-The NXT North American champion Ricochet comes out to the ring and talks about Johnny Gargano's tactics as of late and his showing his true colors in 2018. Johnny Gargano comes down to the ring and gets in before the two brawl and Ricochet sends Johnny out of the ring with a bicycle knee. Tommaso Ciampa attacks Ricochet before Johnny beats Ricochet down at ringside and Aleister Black shows up out of nowhere and beats Ciampa down in the corner. Johnny then saves Ciampa and superkicks Black before Ciampa and Gargano beat on their respective opponents for NXT Takeover: Phoenix as we go off the air with Ciampa and Gargano nearly shaking hands only for Candice LeRae to stop them and lead Johnny away.
