The Revival Say They Always Have A Chip On Their Shoulders

The Revival are comfortable wrestling with a chip on their shoulder.

Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson have been at the top of NXT tag-team division for over a year. They are the only two-time NXT Tag Team champions, and have been on the verge of going to WWE. Both Wilder and Dawson told ESPN they are wrestling to prove they are better than any tag-team anywhere including WWE.

TNA IMPACT (4/18/2024) Results: System vs MCMG, Hammerstone vs Guido, Nic Nemeth, Rosemary, More

"There is a huge chip on my shoulder, and I don't hold a grudge against anybody else, but I know how good The Revival is and I know what we can do and what we can accomplish. So I want to stop you there and say I can 100 percent fully guarantee it's not a character," said Dawson.

The Revival lost their titles to Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano at NXT Takeover Toronto, who were then defeated at Takeover San Antonio last month, by The Authors of Pain. AOP, as they are sometimes known, are two giant behemoths, both well over 280 pounds, and much taller than their counterparts in the Revival. Wilder told ESPN his stature has always been a reason behind the chip on his shoulder.

"It comes from childhood, I think we have always been like that. Obviously we are not 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, so it has always been an uphill battle. No matter how talented we felt we are in the ring coming up, there was a little bit of doubt or, 'Oh, maybe you need to put on a little bit more size. Maybe if you were a little taller,'" said Wilder. "There was never any red carpet debut,There was never a big fuss, it was just, 'You will go out there and have a match and it might be three minutes and then bye, bye.' I don't think anybody expected us to become champions," Wilder added.

On Wednesday, The Revival was victorious against a team of big dudes named Heavy Machinery on NXT. In the interview with ESPN, both men emphasized they will always overcome their size because of their talent. They outlined their time at NXT and highlighted their favorite matches.
