Rey Mysterio Wants To See More Mixed Tag Matches In WWE, Would Choose Asuka As His Partner

Rey Mysterio wants more mixed tag action in WWE.

Over the past decade, mixed tag team matches have been making a bit of a comeback in WWE. The Mixed Match Challenge tournament helped this movement, with top names like Alexa Bliss, Braun Strowman, Asuka, and The Miz taking part in the festivities.

On the latest edition of the No Contest Wrestling Podcast, Rey Mysterio said he'd like to see more mixed tag matches in WWE.

“I do wish they’d do a little bit more mixed tag matches. I really enjoy those. I think that gets really creative when it comes down to seeing your favorite female superstar and favorite male superstar. I know we’re a little bit sensitive with a man putting his hands on a woman, so we’re trying to stay away from that.”

Mysterio then picked Asuka as his dream mixed tag partner.

“I’ll tell you what, I’d probably go with Asuka.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Mysterio confirmed that he didn't pay Dominik Mysterio for his appearance at SummerSlam in 2005. Check out his full comments here.
