Rick Steiner comments on his son, Bron Breakker, winning the NXT Championship.
Bron Breakker captured the WWE NXT Championship at NXT New Year’s Evil. In doing so, he accomplished something that neither Rick nor Scott Steiner were ever able to, win a major singles championship in WWE.
With his journey just beginning, Bronson Rechsteiner, Bron Breakker’s real name, looks to his father and Uncle, Rick and Scott Steiner as a major source of inspiration. After he successfully captured the NXT Title, Bron Breakker celebrated in the ring with his father, Rick Steiner.
Now, Rick Steiner is speaking on his son's major accomplishment in a new interview with Sports Illustrated.
“I hope he’s even more successful than myself and his uncle,” says Steiner. “We had such a special time traveling the road as brothers, but this tops all of that. This is his time and his chance to carry the torch. Watching that match was one of the best moments of my life. As his father, I couldn’t be prouder, and so is our whole family.”
Breakker’s title victory was symbolic of ushering in the era of NXT 2.0. As was evident by Bron kicking a gold X, breaking it in half during his entrance. Symbolizing the breaking through of the old black and gold NXT.
