Roman Reigns: I Didn't Tap At WWE Fastlane, I Was Doing Morse Code To Paul Heyman

Fans who saw Roman Reigns tap out to Daniel Bryan at WWE Fastlane were sorely mistaken.

Even though it looked like Reigns tapped to the Yes Lock of Bryan, Reigns has a perfect explanation as to what was actually happening in that moment.

"I was doing morse code to Paul. [Bryan] had my mouth covered. [Heyman and I] are so in tune, I was morse coding and telling him to fire up the jet. That wasn't a tap," an in-character Reigns told Ariel Helwani on his MMA show with a smile.

WWE official Adam Pearce didn't see things that way and decided to add Bryan to Reigns' WrestleMania 37 bout against Edge, making things a triple threat match for the WWE Universal Title.

Reigns isn't happy about it.

"I like one-on-one, I'll smash anybody. Daniel Bryan, Edge, [Daniel Cormier] I'll smash them all. Get [Cormier] from behind the table and back in the gym, maybe he'll have a chance. It'd be a short story. In a triple threat, there's an element of control that I won't have. I can't take a second off. I have to be in control 100% of the time, otherwise, Bum A is gonna beat Bum C. I don't like the dynamic that Edge can beat Daniel Bryan and vice versa. All this hard work and control of running SmackDown and being the face of FOX can be taken away without any say so, but that's what makes a great story. If I don't experience and overcome these things, then is my reign as good as it should be?" pondered the champion.

Elsewhere during the interview, Reigns discussed the extra layers his character will have to peel once lie crowds return. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
