Speedball Mike Bailey has love for George St-Pierre.
Quebecers, unlike the Mounties, are handsome, brave, and strong. Mike Bailey, during an interview with Renee Paquette on AEW's Close-Up, recently described UFC Hall of Famer George St-Pierre as a hunk, not only because he's handsome and jacked, but because of how GSP kept his dignity during his time as a fighter.
"I think he's not only a hunk because he's jacked and gorgeous. I think he's a hunk because he maintained his dignity, that's right, despite being in the UFC for many, many years. He was always respectful, and when his opponents would talk smack, he would be like, 'Yeah, okay. I'm glad that's how you feel. I'm getting ready for a fight.'"
Bailey also said that George St-Pierre was a role model of his and feels that he shares GSP's philosophy and composure.
"I mean, I was older by the time he came to prominence. Seeing what he did and how he approached his fights and how he was, like, maintaining his composure was very much in contrast to what I saw from professional wrestlers. I was like, 'I feel like this works better for me,' coming from martial arts and having that same philosophy.
Speedball is now working for AEW. He's currently teaming with Kevin Knight as part of JetSpeed. He's also wrestled the likes of Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada, and more since joining the company.
