Steve Austin Loves That CM Punk Has Returned To The Wrestling Business

Steve Austin weighs in on CM Punk's return.

While fans never got the Steve Austin and CM Punk showdown they were hoping for during their respective careers, it's no secret of Austin's influence on Punk during his time in the business. With Punk returning to WWE television -- by way of Fox Sports 1 -- on Tuesday Austin discussed Punk's return on CBS State of Combat podcast.

"I don't know if it leads to anything more. We'll find out. Just the fact that he's returned and doing business with WWE, I love. They split up on bad terms, and now they're back in business together. CM Punk was a lights out pro wrestler, great promos, great work, great talent. To have him back in the fold, they ironed whatever they needed to iron out. Both sides are happy. It's great to have CM Punk back in the pro wrestling/sports entertainment business. It's a breath of fresh air because the guy brings a great perspective, insight, and opinion," he said.

Punk has noted that he works for Fox and not WWE. He has also said that he is not actively pursuing a return to the ring.
