Swerve Strickland Def. Bandido To Advance In Owen Hart Cup At AEW Double Or Nothing

Swerve Strickland advances in the AEW Owen Hart Cup.

Tournament matches in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament took place at AEW’s 2026 Double or Nothing pay-per-view on May 24th.

One of the first round matches on the men’s side of the tournament saw Swerve Strickland versus ROH World Champion Bandido. Strickland sported Michael Jackson-inspired ring gear. It was his first match since the March 25th Dynamite, where he lost to Kenny Omega.

There was a spot during the bout when Strickland hit a ‘House Call’ on Bandido while standing on Bandido’s shoulders.

The backend of the bout saw Strickland counter Bandido’s 21 Plex into a verterbreaker. He proceeded to hit another House Call to win the match and advance in the tournament.

Strickland will face the winner of Claudio Castagnoli versus Brody King in the next round of the Owen Hart Cup.
