‘The Duke of Dorchester’ Pete Doherty Passes Away At The Age Of 85
“The Duke of Dorchester” Pete Doherty has passed away at the age of 85.
The news was first reported by The Cauliflower Alley Club.
Doherty competed in the WWF in the 1970s and 1980s, largely as an enhancement talent. He did get victories in a Bunkhouse Battle Royal and a win over Haku in the Boston Garden. He challenged for championships at house shows, including a bout against Bob Backlund in 1983.
He shared the ring with the likes of Andre The Giant, Mil Mascaras, Dusty Rhodes, and more.
He was part of the first WWF Saturday Night’s Main Event and the 1991 King of the Ring, losing to Bret Hart in the first round.
He last wrestled in 1992.
