Trish Stratus Says The Women's Wrestlers Of Today Are On A "Whole Different Level"

Trish Stratus heaps praise on today's women's wrestlers.

WWE Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus wrestled at WWE 'Evolution' for the first time since the 2018 Women's Royal Rumble match in January. Trish teamed up with her real-life and on-screen best friend and fellow WWE Hall Of Famer Lita and picked up the victory over Mickie James and Alicia Fox. The following night on RAW a 10-woman tag team match was held as the stars of today got the opportunity to work with their childhood heroes Trish and Lita.

Ahead of WWE 'Evolution', The Mirror spoke with Trish Stratus and grabbed her thoughts on getting back into the ring, working with Mickie James again and much more. During their conversation Trish spoke about her return at the Royal Rumble and stated that the ladies of today are on a entirely different level and training to stay on par with them was intense.

"Well, the first time I came back at Royal Rumble, here I was sitting here after seven years out of the ring, I had birthed two children... these are all factors you have to consider, you know? The girls were at a whole different level. Like it's different when you go in and work with a girl whom you're kind of familiar wrestling with, it's a whole new roster of girls." Trish explained. "So I had one month to prepare and it was pretty intense, it was a pretty intense month. Before I actually even agreed to do it I called a guy I know who has a ring and I said, 'Errm... I need to set up a ring immediately' so I just got in there to find out, 'Okay body, how do you feel?' And I don't know, wrestling is sort of like riding a bike. It feels like your body is like, 'Nah, I got this'. Not to say there wasn't, 'Ooh, that hurt' because there was certainly a few of those moments. But I definitely got into it and then I trained my butt off for a month straight, got in there and increased my weight training, my yoga, all that stuff and it just came to me. I basically intensified what I normally do, plus added some weight training, that was for the Rumble."
