Undisputed TNT Champion Crowned On 1/26 AEW Dynamite: Beach Break

There can be only one!

On the January 26, Beach Break edition of AEW Dynamite, Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara faced off in the first-ever singles Ladder Match in company history to crown an undisputed TNT Champion. Rhodes was set to defend the title against Sammy at Battle of the Belts but was pulled from the card due to exposure to a family member who tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, Sammy faced and defeated Dustin Rhodes on that night to become the interim TNT Champion.

Cody issued the challenge to Sammy last Wednesday during a segment in which he discussed a number of topics, including his contract status.

The Championship Match opened Dynamite and featured a number of high flying spots including a Suplex, Cutter, Cross Rhodes, and Senton off the top of ladders. Eventually, with both men atop a ladder in the middle of the ring, Sammy hit Cody with one of the titles, knocking him to the ground and allowing him to capture the belts for the victory.

After having lost the title to Cody, Sammy is once again AEW TNT Champion.
