United States Championship Rematch Set For SmackDown Live

Kevin Owens is not wasting any time in getting his rematch for the United States championship.

Two days after Owens was unsuccessful in defending his United States title against Chris Jericho on the Payback pay-per-view, the two will face off once again on SmackDown Live tonight.

Jericho, who used to be on RAW, got signed to SmackDown after winning the United States Championship as per the stipulations established after the Superstar Shake-Up after WrestleMania 33. Jericho first won the title late last year on RAW after pinning then-champion Roman Reigns when Jericho teamed with Owens in a handicap match against Reigns.

WWE has already posted a promo for the rematch, which can be seen below:

Owens also posted a tweet about his upcoming title match, saying, "Tomorrow night, I take back what was stolen from me. I take back what is rightfully mine as #TheFaceOfAmerica. I take back MY #USTitle"

Jericho said farewell to WWE's red brand in a backstage segment with general manager Kurt Angle at Payback immediately after winning the title. Regardless of the winner, both Jericho and Owens are members of SmackDown Live, which can be seen every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network.

Fightful will have live coverage of every episode of SmackDown as well as a live post-SmackDown podcast featuring Sean Ross Sapp, Jeff Hawkins and Anna Bauert.
