Some very unfortunate news to pass along.
On April 18th of this year, WWE Hall Of Famer Bruno Sammartino passed away at the age of 82. WWE honored Bruno with a ten-bell salute while they were on tour and once the company got back to the United States they honored Bruno again with a video package of his historic career and a special on the WWE Network featuring comments from those who knew Bruno both professionally and personally such as WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
Sadly on November 6th, another member of the Sammartino family passed away. According to the Pennsylvania-based funeral home 'Devlin Funeral Home', Bruno's son Daniel Sammartino passed away this past Tuesday. Here's the bio on the webpage for the passing of Daniel Sammartino:
"Daniel A. Sammartino ? Age 50, of Allison Park, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018. Danny was born on January 8, 1968 in Pittsburgh, loving son of Carol and the late Bruno Sammartino. He is survived by his beloved fiancé of 8 years, Cindy, and her children, Eric, Ryan, and Brad Stauber, whom he loved as if they were his own; his children, Anthony and Vincent Sammartino; brothers David and Darryl (Holly) Sammartino, and nephew Bruno. Family and friends will be received Friday from 3-7 at Devlin Funeral Home Inc, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 am at St. Sebastian Parish. Entombment will be private. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, and staff at Shadyside, and Passavant Hospitals for the excellent, compassionate care they showed Danny."
The funeral for Daniel Sammartino will be held today at 10 AM EST at the St. Sebastian Church. On behalf of Fightful, we would like to extend our condolences to the Sammartino family during this trying 2018.
