Conor McGregor Says He’ll Fight Again In April 2027, Which Is The Final Date On His UFC Contract

Conor McGregor is set to return to the Octagon on July 11 at UFC 239 against Max Holloway.
It will be his first fight since July 2021, when he suffered a broken lower tibia against Dustin Poirier. He was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler in June 2024, but had to pull out of the event due to injury.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani on the Ariel Helwani Show, McGregor revealed that he has two fights left on his UFC contract, including the one against Holloway. He said that his final fight with the company will take place in April 2027.
“I am contracted and I have both dates. I have both dates for my fights. I have July 11. When would you think they would put me back in? April 2027. It’s locked in. It’s almost a year later. That’s ridiculous to me,” he said.
McGregor said that you’d have to ask Ari Emanuel as to why he’s fighting again in April 2027 and not potentially sooner.
“I’m happy to an extent. There’s a lot more there. I hope it’s with the UFC. I hope we come to something. I hope I get honored even more. I hope I’m going to prove even more so what I’m about. It wasn’t that difficult. We met in the middle. We got a good, juicy one. Was it what I’m worth? Probably not,” he said.
McGregor is the top draw in UFC history, headlining four out of the five highest-grossing gates and the highest-drawing pay-per-view in company history. He said that he’ll be the highest paid fighter for his fight at UFC 239.
Holloway and McGregor previously fought at UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen in August 2013. McGregor won the fight by unanimous decision.
