'Cowboy' Cerrone Says He And The Diaz Brothers Squashed Beef

The Donald Cerrone and Diaz brothers beef is over.

Cerrone has often battled the Diaz brothers, both in and out of the cage. Many were surprised when they saw Donald Cerrone fist bumping Nate Diaz in a recent UFC 202 Embedded episode. According to Cerrone, the two sides squashed their long-term issues.

“I went up and talked to Nate and Nick,” Cerrone said at UFC 202 media day.  “I said, ‘Hey, man, this shit has got to stop. We either have to figure it out, or figure it out.’ You know what I mean? They were like, ‘Cool, man.’ “Every time we see each other, it’s like, I don’t want to mug you across the room all the time. I’m tired of that shit. When we pass in crowds, there’s no need to bump shoulders unless you want to handle it. They were cool too. They were like, ‘Yeah, man. Fuck all that. Let’s just move forward and keep it Dougie.’ It’s just easier that way.”

Cerrone also admitted that he's a fan of Nate and Nick Diaz's fighting style. He wasn't even sure why problems remained, and was relieved to see it come to an end.

“It’s just stupid,” Cerrone said. “It’s unnecessary. It’s like, let’s let that shit die and just move forward. They were like, ‘Hell yeah.’ I like those two. I’m a fan of them. For me to be mad at someone for nothing is stupid.”

Donald Cerrone takes on Rick Story tonight at UFC 202 on PPV. Fightful.com will have full, live coverage of the show and a post-show podcast.
