Dana White Says He Wants To Make Nunes vs. Cyborg II

Former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cyborg defeated Felicia Spencer by unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC 240.

Cyborg says she wants UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Amanda Nunes in a rematch next and that is the fight that UFC President Dana White wants to make.

“I like it. I love it. That’s the fight to make, that’s the fight I want to make,” White said at the UFC 240 post-fight press conference (via Milan Ordonez of Bloody Elbow). “So we’ll see what we can do.”

Nunes and Cyborg first met last year at UFC 232, with Nunes scoring the first round knockout win to claim the title.

The former women’s featherweight champion is now a free agent, but White wants to get her signed and back under the UFC’s auspices.

“I hope so. If that’s true, it that’s the fight she wants and she really wants that fight, I don’t see how we don’t make a deal,” White said. “If you look at my history in 20 years, how many deals have I not made for a fight? I think it’s been like one. There’s one I didn’t make. We never got the Russian… Fedor. I was trying to do that Fedor-Brock (Lesnar) fight. That’s the fight I didn’t make.”

There is no word on when a potential Nunes/Cyborg rematch could happen, but Cyborg was spotted wearing a t-shirt after UFC 240 that said the rematch would happen in January of 2020.
