Luke Rockhold Would Accept A Fight With Jon Jones In A Heartbeat

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold and Jan Blachowicz will face off later this year at UFC 239.

Jon Jones is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and Rockhold would accept a bout with him in a heartbeat.

Dana White Makes It Clear That Paulo Costa's Future Is At Light Heavyweight: "He’s Going To Have To Fight At 205"

“I’d jump on (a fight with Jones) in a heartbeat,” he said on Submission Radio. “I’ve been training as Jon Jones for (teammate Daniel Cormier) for so many years and I know his style, and like what we have here. So I’m gonna go focus on what I’m doing here this summer and if everything works out, me and Jon will be dancing later this year or 2020.”

Jones will defend the light heavyweight strap against Thiago Santos at UFC 239 this July.

Rockhold also doesn’t see who is a viable top contender to the light heavyweight title right now besides him.

“Thiago Santos just got a world title fight after beating Jan Blachowicz, so I figure if I go out there and put a performance on him, what’s to deny me?” Rockhold said. “I mean, what else is there? These guys are scouring around, not taking fights. So I’m gonna go out there and I’m gonna perform and do my job, and then I’m gonna let the chips fall where they may.”

UFC 239 takes place on Saturday, July 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Thiago Santos headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
