Mirsad Bektic needed a new opponent for UFC Vegas 11 after the withdrawal of Eduardo Garagorri and now he has one because Damon Jackson has accepted the short notice opportunity.

Bloody Canvas first reported the news.

The Most Popular Prop Bets Placed During MMA Matches

Bektic (13-3-0) enters the contest riding a two-fight losing streak. Those losses came against the dangerous duo of Josh Emmett and Dan Ige. Bektic, once a highly-touted prospect, has not earned a victory in more than two years. His last win was against Ricardo Lamas at UFC 225. Bektic’s three losses as a professional MMA fighter all came in UFC competition and the fighter won 11 straight before suffering his first-ever defeat.

Jackson (17-3-1-1NC) is starting his second stint with the UFC and does so having won six of his last seven fights. Jackson went winless during his first UFC run, losing to Yancy Medeiros at UFC 177, while fighting Rony Jason to a no contest at UFC Fight Night 67 and battling Levan Makashvili to a majority draw at UFC On Fox 18. Jackson has competed 22 times as a professional MMA fighter and just two of those bouts went the distance.

UFC Vegas 11 takes place on Saturday, September 19 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
