Aleister Black Discusses Pitches To Work With Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, And Samoa Joe

Though Vince McMahon loved Aleister Black's creativity, many of the ideas he had never came to fruition.

Black has previously noted how he was supposed to win the United States Title during the pandemic, but Vince McMahon wanted his first big title win to come in front of a crowd. He's also told stories of how he would add layers to his promos.

Speaking to Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions, Black revealed that there was a pitch for him to help The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36 against AJ Styles and the Good Brothers, but the idea wasn't used.

"One of the cool pitches for me, was for the moment that I had the match with AJ leading up to WrestleMania, during the match, Undertaker appeared and saved me. One of the pitches was for WrestleMania, at the end of the match, the Good Brothers would come out and I would be the one to help Taker. The fact that they considered that, I was like, 'Wow.' It was very cool," he said.

Undertaker defeated Styles, who was helped by The Good Brothers, in a Boneyard match at WrestleMania 36. Black would defeat Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 36.

Black also revealed that there was a pitch from Brock Lesnar or Samoa Joe to enter his infamous room to challenge him to a fight.

"Another thing that was cool was Heyman's idea was to have Samoa Joe or Brock Lesnar come into the room. They were supposed to progress and never progressed, they just stayed the same, which is one of my biggest regrets because I wanted that to be more than it was. I did what I could, which was very minimal, and Heyman fought tooth and nail for it, but at the end of the day, a no is a no. What we set out to do was to have an interaction with me, Brock Lesnar, or Samoa Joe where I would cut a promo and Lesnar would come from the darkness and choke me out. It would set up. These were pitches, not anything set in stone," he said.

Murphy was the man who finally entered the room to challenge Black, leading to a match between the two at WWE TLC 2019.

Elsewhere during the podcast, Black gave his reaction to his wife Zelina Vega being released by WWE in November 2020. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
