The Man is back!
Bianca Belair was scheduled to defend her SmackDown Women's Championship at SummerSlam against Sasha Banks, but as reported by Wrestling Inc., The Boss was removed from the PPV. Banks and Belair had missed last weekend's live event due to what WWE said were "unforeseen circumstances." No additional information was provided.
WWE continued to advertise the match during the show, but after Belair came out, it was announced that Sasha would not be competing. Carmella then came out but was promptly interrupted by a returning Becky Lynch. The Most Beautiful Woman in WWE was punched and thrown out of the ring by Lynch, who then came back and challenged Belair for her title. The EST of WWE accepted the challenge.
Lynch has been off WWE TV since May 2020 when she announced her pregnancy. At that time she also relinquished the Raw Women's Championship, handing the belt over to Asuka. She is a 4-time Women's Champion in WWE.
