CM Punk says it is time to stop amplifying certain voices of the past and their opinions on modern wrestling.
In the modern age of wrestling, many of the major superstars of the past now have their own platform to talk about today's wrestling with a multitude of podcasts and the advent of social media. Sometimes, the opinions of those from days gone by can ruffle the feathers of the superstars of today.
CM Punk, who has never been shy about his own opinions, recently responded to a clip of Eric Bischoff from his podcast, 83 Weeks. Punk, on Twitter, made it very clear how he feels about these takes oh, it's time for them to fade out.
Wrestling twitter needs to stop amplifying all the old head bad faith bad take carny dipshits. They had their moment in the sun. Let them die in the dark with their ego podcasts. Quote me. pic.twitter.com/ryMcGSW10u— player/coach (@CMPunk) May 10, 2022
Eric Bischoff responded to this by referring to CM Punk’s answer when he was asked about the comparisons of his, Bryan Danielson’s, and Adam Coles' AEW debuts to the rise of the nWo in WCW.
Ok: “So, I’m not Hogan or Savage. Daniel Bryan and Adam Cole, they’re not The Outsiders, I see the parallels, but this is totally different. I’ll go ahead and say it and people can quote me and they’ll be p*ssed off about it, but to me, this is bigger."— Eric Bischoff (@EBischoff) May 10, 2022
How’s that working out? https://t.co/PPK9wALmoJ
CM Punk, inside the squared circle, is more focused on pressing matters such as becoming the world champion. He will get his shot to do so later this month at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view. See the card here.
