AEW Double or Nothing in May 2019 was the first official show under the AEW banner. But All In, billed as the largest independent wrestling show ever, was the pre-cursor to what eventually became AEW. And while All In was the brainchild of and largely put together by Cody and The Young Bucks, it is ROH who has the footage rights to the event.
Speaking on an AEW media call, Cody was asked by Fightful about the All In footage and if Cody and AEW are currently trying to obtain the footage.
"We -- Myself, Matt & Nick Jackson -- have such a good relationship with [COO] Joe Koff and [GM] Greg Gilleland at Ring of Honor. Originally, it's a complicated set of documents that tie All In to ROH, but they did so much to help with All In. They did a significant amount to help with All In. From loaning us Gary Juster or helping us handle back up house arrangements. The fact that they let us breach contract to do it. They're a huge part of it. But it's not something we're actively, currently....we talk about it every now and then, I don't want to sound super romantic because it will also sound naive, I was there. I lived it and felt it in my heart. The businessman in me kind of forgets that we probably should get our hands on it just because it's so fresh and a great thing that happened for wrestling. I know if we came to the table with Greg and Joe, we would be the first people, if they ever thought about unloading some things, we would be the first people they would talk to. They're men of their word, as are we. That would be a nice conversation. But right now, it's something we let pass," he said.
Cody also clarified that the name 'All In' belongs to Matt, Nick, and Dana Massie and not ROH.
All In took place on September 1, 2018 and was headlined by The Golden Elite (Kota Ibushi, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) defeating Bandido, Rey Fénix and Rey Mysterio. The event also saw Chris Jericho make a surprise appearance and Cody win the NWA World Heavyweight Title from Nick Aldis.
