Donald Cerrone Calls Out Conor McGregor After Beating Al Iaquinta At UFC Ottawa

Donald Cerrone continues his resurgence to the top after an outstanding performance Saturday night in Ottawa.

The night's headliner, Cerrone took out #4 Al Iaquinta by outstriking him over the course of five rounds. After a mixed-bag run at 170 pounds, Cerrone is back at lightweight and looking for a title fight -- or maybe Conor McGregor.

#8 Cerrone landed a big knee early in the fight, a huge head kick later, and fought up until the final bell with a barrage of nasty strikes. Iaquinta never could quite get his offense going, falling victim to a unanimous decision loss at the hands of the more well-rounded Cerrone. It was Cerrone's first five-round decision win, out of 13 fights that were scheduled for five rounds.

After the bout, Cerrone expressed his desire to compete for the UFC Lightweight Championship, but also called out Conor McGregor for a fight in July.

Elsewhere on the show, other top 15 fighters were in action. In the co-main event #9 Derek Brunson took #13 Elias Theodorou to a unanimous decision win. Shane Burgos outlasted the (somehow) #10 Cub Swanson, and #14 Macy Chiasson finished off Sarah Moras.
