Giant Upset On WWE Smackdown Live, Title Rematch Set For Next Week

Tuesday's Smackdown Live played host to a monumental upset. Sort of.

WWE enhancement talent James Ellsworth defeated WWE Champion AJ Styles in a singles match. Styles' rival Dean Ambrose served as a special guest referee and made a quick count to secure the win for Ellsworth.

The quick count wasn't the only aid given to Ellsworth. After Styles dominated the duration of the contest despite quick countouts, threats of DQ and more, Ambrose blasted Styles with two Dirty Deeds' and placed Ellsworth on top of Styles.

This is Ellsworth's third appearance in the WWE. His first was a squash match loss to Braun Strowman, which endeared him to wrestling fans worldwide. He appeared as AJ Styles' partner (as selected by Daniel Bryan) last month, but was taken out by The Miz.

You can see video of the upset below.

WWE Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan would announce on Talking Smack that Ellworth will get a rematch on next week's Smackdown for the WWE Title.
