Ortiz Says He's Always Wanted To Do A Hair vs. Hair Match, Hasn't Cut His Hair In Five Years

Ortiz is set for arguably the biggest match of his singles career on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite Road Rager when he takes on Chris Jericho in a hair vs. hair match.

Ortiz and Jericho have been linked since the first episode of Dynamite when The Inner Circle formed. The stablemates became enemies when Jericho dropped the Inner Circle for the Jericho Appreciation Society.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Ortiz discussed the hair vs. hair match.

"As a huge lucha fan, I always wanted to a do a hair vs. hair match. I'm stoked. I'm willing to put this on the line, plus I'm confident I can grow it back if the odds are against me. I'm going on five years without cutting it," he said.

Ortiz has already won a battle against Jericho, cutting off some locks of his hair, which might be the most valuable thing Ortiz owns.

"I already got a piece of his hair. I think I have it in my book bag. I'm gonna make a chain out of it. I was thinking of auctioning it off on eBay, see what I could get from it. Apparently, he said it's worth more than my whole entire AEW contract, so I can cash in on it. Pay off my mortgage," he joked.
