Tony Khan: Maybe I Should Keep ROH During WM Week, But It Gives WWE A Year To Counter-Program

Tony Khan said AEW would never run WrestleMania weekend, but he honored Ring of Honor running during the weekend by keeping Supercard of Honor on the schedule after it was announced and he had purchased the company.

Khan has yet to commit to continuing to run ROH shows during WrestleMania weekend and upon being told by Righteous Reg of Grapsody that ROH is a big draw for fans coming in for the weekend, he sounded more open to the idea of keeping up ROH's Mania Weekend tradition moving forward.

"I think we can draw without coming here [WrestleMania weekend], but on the other hand, it's a tradition for fans who do come here. To be honest, I never looked at it like that. Maybe I should come...I always said AEW was never going to come do this and I've stuck to that. I never said Ring of Honor would never come and do it and we've done it once. Maybe I should do it and I'll get the hell out of town on Friday night, but that also gives them a year to counter-program and come up with some bullshit thing to do to me," Khan said during the post-Supercard of Honor media scrum.

It was then suggested by Will Washington of Grapsody that ROH shows run in conjunction with the four AEW pay-per-views.

Khan replied by saying, "That could be cool too. I never thought about that, but it's a hell of an idea. The only thing is, we do the Fan Fest on Saturday. To do, Rampage the Fan Fest, possibly Ring of Honor, and this is all depending on...I have a TV contract and I have to run things by WarnerMedia and do things the right way, but it's a hell of an idea. It's creative but it's a lot on the weekend. It's something to think about."

Khan noted it may not work when AEW holds pay-per-views on a Saturday.

As of now, it is unknown if ROH will continue the Supercard tradition in 2023. If you missed anything from Supercard of Honor 2022, check out Fightful's full report on the show by clicking here.
