Will Ospreay was only months away from giving up on professional wrestling.
In 2015, Will Ospreay had been wrestling for only a few years and was having some financial concerns according to a tweet he sent out on Friday. During that year, he made a deal with himself to leave wrestling if something did not work out soon.
"I actually had a conversation with some of my friends knowing I was going to BOLA for the first time.'If there was no interest in any company by the end of the year, I'm gonna have to quit wrestling and get a proper job,'" wrote Ospreay.
Later that year, Ospreay made a break through in his career. He made it to the semi-finals of the 2015 BOLA tournament and then started hearing more from bigger wrestling promotions.
"Thankfully in October 2015 I faced Okada for RPW and was asked to come in for NJPW. Roughly same year, I was offered WWE and months after...TNA. So, I had my pick of where to go. I selected NJPW as I wanted to become a well rounded performer and it's the greatest decision I've ever made," wrote Ospreay.
Earlier this year, Ospreay became a two time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion before losing the title to the winner of the Best of the Super Juniors tournament Hiromu Takahashi.
