WWE NXT Results For 6/1/21 Triple Threat Match Johnny Gargano vs. Kyle O'Reilly vs. Pete Dunne

-The show begins with a recap of last week's match between Finn Balor and NXT Champion Karrion Kross. Each of the competitors in tonight's Triple Threat talks about their match tonight. They now begin going over tonight's card, which features Kushida Open Challenge for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship and MSK vs. Legado del Fantasma for the NXT Tag-Team Championship.

- We are welcome by Vic Joseph to the Capitol Wrestling Center, live from Orlando, Florida. He is joined by Wade Barrett and WWE Hall-of-Famer Beth Phoenix.

Number One Contender Match for NXT Championship
Kyle O'Reilly vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Pete Dunne

Pete Dunne is introduced first to a chorus of boos. Johnny Gargano is the second one out, and Kyle O'Reilly is out last. NXT Commentator Wade Barrett said Austin Theory was banned from ringside tonight. The bell rings, and O'Reilly goes right at Pete Dunne with a kick to the midsection of Kyle O'Reilly. O'Reilly sends Gargano out of the ring; Dunne then meets him with a heavy strike. Gargano counters Dunne's hold into an arm breaker. O'Reilly has to release the hold and then is sent to the outside.

O'Reilly and Gargano are going at it now; Dunne pulls on the ears of Gargano. O'Reilly is now back in the ring, and he takes Gargano right now and begins throwing a few strikes in on O'Reilly. Dunne gets in the ring and pulls the fingers of Gargano and O'Reilly. All three men go to the corners and exchange strikes into the turnbuckles. Dunne goes to the outside and is immediately hit with a forearm by Gargano. Gargano goes for the first pin on Dunne; however, Dunne kicks out. We are now headed to our first picture-in-picture commercial with Johnny Gargano controlling the action. Dunne hits The Bitter End on Gargano and goes for the pin; however, O'Reilly comes flying from the turnbuckle and stops the pin with a flying knee.

The action comes outside the ring; Pete Dunne and Kyle O'Reilly are outside and are attacked by Adam Cole with a chair. Gargano comes at Cole, and Cole hits him with a chair. Cole attacks Dunne and O'Reilly some more. Cole takes out the referee; William Regal comes out with two security guards and orders Cole to leave. Cole agrees; however, he gets in one last superkick, and they go to a commercial.

No Winner because of DQ

- They return from the commercial, and Adam Cole is leaving, but Ember Moon comes out and demands Raquel Gonzalez to come to the ring, and she does. Dakota Kai comes from behind and takes out Ember Moon.

- Legado del Fantasma cuts a promo for their match tonight against MSK.

- We get a promo of Drake Maverick about to be interviewed, but he gets interrupted by Ever-Rise

LA Knight vs. Jake Atlas

LA Knight takes Jake Atlas down with an arm drag; Knight turns around celebrating, and Atlas comes back with an arm drag and then gets some offense in on Knight. Atlas hits Knight with a springboard kick. The action goes to the middle of the ring, and Knight puts Atlas in a submission hold; Atlas gets out of it.

Knight takes over the match, and he hits Atlas with a neckbreaker; Ted DiBiase comes out to watch LA Knight, but Knight takes his focus off of Atlas. Atlas comes up and goes for a rollup pin, but Knight kicks out. LA Knight is angry, and he starts going at Atlas big time; Atlas is on the canvas, and Knight stomps on Atlas's stomach. Knight gets Atlas on the middle ropes and kicks him in the chest. Atlas gets up, and Maverick goes over the top rope from the outside and hits Jake Atlas with a big shoulder tackle. LA Knight walks over to the corner turnbuckle to celebrate as they take a commercial break.

We come back from the commercial break with Knight still in control as DiBiase watches on. Knight goes for the Million Dollar Dream but Atlas forces Knight into the corner. Knight goes for it again; Atlas comes back with a few strikes, and Knight shows that he is frustrated as he throws Atlas out of the ring. Atlas gets back into the ring after the referee got to nine in the ten count. Cameron Grimes comes out and talks to DiBiase, and the fight is still going; Atlas hits standing moonsault. Knight is still in control for the most part; Knight gets distracted by Grimes, and Atlas capitalizes and knocks him onto the ropes and immediately hits him with Cartwheel DDT to get the victory.

Winner: Jake Atlas

- We get a backstage promo of Oney Lorcan saying if it weren't for Adam Cole, Pete Dunne would be the number one contender. Austin Theory comes up to Oney, and they have words, and both men start throwing punches.

- They now have a backstage segment with Ted DiBiase getting interviewed, and he said LA Knight dropped the ball, and he was impressed with Cameron Grimes. Adam Cole walks through and is headed back to the ring after getting kicked out of the building a few minutes ago. They head to a commercial break.

- We get an announcement the Poppy will be on next week's show.

- Adam Cole is in the ring and is cutting a promo saying that he is the true number, one contender. He took out all three of the top stars, and he did it easily. He then calls out Karrion Kross and tells him that he is an overrated muscle head. Cole says he was NXT Champion for over 400 days, and that was no accident. Kross appears and gets in the ring, and his first words to Cole are "Little Man," and he says he understands what he did and why he did it. Kross tells Cole "that he was no longer special the day he signed with the WWE." Cole says this is his belt, and he will get it back. William Regal comes out and tells Cole he is not going to get in this match. Kross tells Regal to shut up and that he wants all of them at NXT In Your House. Kross says he will fight Gargano, Dunne, O'Reilly, and Adam Cole. Cole walks out, gets on top of the commentator's table, and tells Kross that NXT is his show.

- They go to a promo with Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell, and she questions if Poppy is coming to NXT so she can be the next Bad Bunny.

- Wade Barrett says that they have someone to challenge Kushida for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, and it is Carmelo Hayes F.K.A. Christian Casanova.

NXT Cruiserweight Championship
Carmelo Hayes vs. Kushida

Carmelo Hayes gets into the ring and walks up to Kushida, and both men have some words. Hayes and Kushida tie-up, and they break it up. Hayes tells Kushida he's taking that title; they tie up again, and both men reverse moves, and Hayes takes Kushida down and goes for the pin, and Kushida kicks out at one.

Hayes is in complete control as he takes Kushida down with multiple arm drags. Kushida is now getting some offensive strikes in, and then he has Hayes in a headlock; Hayes gets out of the headlock when he sends Kushida to the ropes. Kushida comes back with a springboard elbow. Kushida goes back at Hayes, and Hayes is ready for him and takes down Kushida with a few strikes. They head out to a commercial break.

They are back from commercial break; Kushida hits the ropes and comes back and knocks Hayes off the ring; Kushida brings Hayes back to the ring. Hayes is ready for him and takes Kushida down with a superkick; Hayes now hits Kushida down with a springboard kick. Now, both men are back up and are exchanging chops. Kushida stops waiting and then delivers multiple kicks. Hayes recovers and takes down Kushida with a counter and drops Kushida down to the canvas face first. Kushida hits a big hip toss and then throws a heavy right. Kushida goes for the Hoverboard, but he escapes it; Kushida kicks Hayes in the temple and then goes for the Hoverboard again, and he locks it, and Hayes taps out. After the match, Kushida and the crowd show respect to the new NXT superstar.

Winner: Kushida

- During the match, they announced that Cameron Grimes would take on LA Knight NXT Takeover: In Your House

- MSK cuts a promo stating that Legado del Fantasma is not ready for them, and they will take care of them tonight.

- They come back from commercials with Franky Monet cutting a promo about all the rave reviews from her debut last week.

Zayda Ramier and Zoey Stark vs. The Way (Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae)

Zayda Ramier and Indi Hartwell begin the match with a tie-up, and she takes Ramier down right away with a slam and tags in LeRae. LeRae gets in a few strikes, and now she and Hartwell exchange tags multiple times and control the match. LeRae has Ramier in a chokehold and goes for a pin attempt but only gets a two-count. Ramier attempts to tag Zoey Stark but does not make it. Hartwell gets in the face of Stark and gets a few more shots in on Ramier. Ramier tags in Zoey Stark, and now she gets a few strikes in, and she takes LeRae down and goes for the pin, but Hartwell makes the save. LeRae hits the Wicked Sister, and Hartwell hits Pretty Savage and goes for the pin. Indi and Candice get the victory.

Winners: The Way (Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae)

Ember Moon says that she will take on Dakota Kai next week and win the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship for the second time.

NXT Tag-Team Championship
Legado del Fantasma (w/ Santos Escobar) vs. MSK

Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde of Legado del Fantasma wait in the ring for Nash Carter and Wes Lee of MSK, and both teams get into each other's faces before the match begins. Joaquin Wilde and Wes Lee tie up and exchange different holds until Wes Less takes control by putting Wilde in a headlock. Nash Carter and Wes Lee exchange tags, but Wilde takes them out as their double-team does not work. Wilde tags in Mendoza, Mendoza gets some strong stikes in on Nash Carter. Mendoza tags back in Wilde, and Wilde gets some punches in on Carter. Wes Lee makes it to Nash Carter for the tag; all four men are in the ring now and exchanging kicks and strikes.

All four men are down in the ring; The Grizzled Young Veterans make their way to the ring; however, Tomasso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher are right behind them, and those four begin fighting and leave ringside. Nash Carter and Wes Lee take over the match as they both land over-the-top-rope dives. Carter hits the Moonsault on Wilde, and Lee hits his dive on Mendoza. They go to their last picture-in-picture commercial break, and MSK is in control. MSK begins tagging in and out as they both continue their beat down on Wilde. Wilde soon gets away and makes it to his partner Raul Mendoza and Mendoza is in control, and he is hitting Lee with multiple chops. Mendoza has Wes Lee on the top rope, but he knocks him off and pulls him to the middle of the ring and goes for the pin, but Lee kicks out.

Wilde gets tagged in and goes in at Lee with multiple strikes, and now he has Lee in a submission hold. Wes Lee gets out of it; however, he hits the ropes and is met with a big elbow. Wilde and Mendoza exchange tags multiple times and continue their onslaught of offense. Mendoza goes for a possible powerbomb, but Lee counters it and takes Mendoza down into a DDT. Lee makes it over to Carter for the hot tag; Carter takes them both out and lands Wilde with a nice springboard elbow. Mendoza does a blind tag, and Wes Lee does not realize it; Mendoza takes Lee out with a big top rope dropkick. Lee drops back, and his head hits the middle rope hard. Mendoza goes for the pin, but Lee kicks out. Lee is on the outside, and the referee is distracted; Santos Escobar throws Lee into the steel steps.

Escobar tosses Lee back into the ring; Legado del Fantasma goes to finish it as Mendoza delivers a devastating kick to Lee. He goes for the pin; Nash Carter makes the save at the last second. Escobar cannot believe it, and out of nowhere, Bronson Reed takes out Escobar by going in and squashing him into the barricade. Wilde is in the corner watching Reed and is not paying attention to MSK; Carter goes and hits Wilde with a big dropkick into the corner turnbuckle and then hits the Frankensteiner and Powerbomb combo to get the pin and the win. MSK retains the NXT Tag-Team Championship.
