All Elite Wrestling’s Mikey Rukus has been making many of the theme songs fans hear weekly on AEW Dynamite, but he got his start in making theme songs for Combat Sports athletes in the UFC.
AEW Music producer, Mikey Rukus, spoke with AfterBuzz TV’s Jack Farmer to discuss how he got his break approaching fighters on a regional scale, and how it led to UFC fighters coming to him to craft themes for their walk down to the octagon.
The following quotes were passed along by Jack Farmer.
“I was rooted in the mixed martial arts industry," Rukus began. "So I started with fighters on the regional level and the local level and said ‘I’m going to make a custom song for you.’ And within a year I had my music being played in the UFC. I had UFC fighters coming to me asking for custom music and I’ve always wanted to go into the wrestling field but at the time I was just so enamored with the realism and the actual warfare hand to hand combat that was mixed martial arts.”
