AJ Styles Bloodied Up After A Steel Chair Ricocheted Onto His Face During The WWE Championship Match

A cool but frightening spot.

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura looked to put an end to their twisted rivalry last night at 'Backlash'. Styles and Nakamura had weeks of built up tension all stemming from when Shinsuke tossed sportsmanship out of the window and delivered a "low-blow" to AJ Styles at the end of their match at WrestleMania 34.

In the two competitors' third match-up for the WWE Championship at 'Backlash' they took the fight to one another and for the second consecutive time their match ended in a double count-out. Both Styles and Nakamura attempted and connected "low-blows" onto one another as they fell to the ground in unison and were unable to answer the referee's ten count.

During a particular portion of the match "The Phenomenal One" attempted to block Nakamura's "Kinshasa" finishing maneuver with a steel chair and the chair did stop Nakamura's knee from connecting to his head but the chair rebounded off of Shinsuke's knee into the face of AJ Styles.
